If you're considering visiting South Korea, especially the capital city of Seoul, Bukchon Hanok Village is a must-see for anyone who wants to experience life in Seoul more than 600 years ago. The Seoul Metropolitan Government performed a poll in November 2011 with a sample size of about 2000 visitors. The tourists replied that their fourth favourite activity in Seoul was strolling around the small but lovely alleyways of Bukchon. The community has been highlighted on television shows, which has increased the amount of tourists. It is estimated that 600,000 people visited Bukchon Hanok Village in 2012.
A traditional Korean neighbourhood with a long history, Bukchon Hanok Village is situated in Seoul between Gyeongbok Palace, Changdeok Palace, and Jongmyo Royal Shrine on top of a hill. There are numerous lanes in a traditional village.
