Chinese Premier Li Qiang said his country wants to take relations with Germany to a new level. He is trying to convince Berlin to maintain strong economic ties, even as Germany plans to diversify its industries away from China. Mr Li and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz have chaired an intergovernmental consultation involving finance officials from both sides. Meanwhile, the EU is set to unveil plans to prevent European companies from making sensitive technologies in authoritarian countries, including China.
