India trashed a UN report on alleged human rights violations in Kashmir as a "prejudiced attempt" by vested interests to hurt India's sovereignty and national interests. In a strong reaction, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said the report is "overtly prejudiced" and seeks to build a "false narrative". The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights ealier released its first-ever report on alleged human rights violation in Kashmir and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and demanded an international probe into it.

भारत ने संयुक्त राष्ट्र मानवाधिकार परिषद यानी UNHRC की कश्मीर और पाकिस्तान के कब्जे वाले कश्मीर में कथित मानवाधिकार उल्लंघन पर रिपोर्ट को पूरी तरह से खारिज कर दिया है। भारत ने इस रिपोर्ट को भ्रामक, पक्षपतापूर्ण और पूर्वाग्रह से प्रेरित बताया है। विदेश मंत्रालय ने इस पर कड़ी प्रतिक्रिया जताते हुए कहा है कि रिपोर्ट देश की संप्रभुता और क्षेत्रीय अखंडता का उल्लंघन करती है और एक गलत तस्वीर पेश करने की कोशिशकर रही है। अपनी तरह की इस पहली रिपोर्ट में संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने सरहद के दोनों ओर के कथित मानवाधिकार उल्लंघनों का जिक्र किया गया था और उनकी अंतरराष्ट्रीय जांच कराने की भी मांग की थी।
