With its New Bridge Program, Atlantik-Brücke seeks to garner interest in Europe among more Americans, spark new ideas and continue to build a strong transatlantic community. The driven young Americans that visit Europe on an intensive 10-day study program are raising important questions, enriching the dialogue and advocating change, while getting a chance to immerse themselves in Germany's and Europe's social, foreign policy, business and cultural debates. For Chamisa Edmo, an indigineous developer and educator from New Mexico, Atlantik-Brücke’s New Bridge Program offered a chance to understand how relationships between countries in the EU are structured – knowledge she hopes to take back home to advance the sovereignty of native tribes in the United States. Chamisa also highlights that the New Bridge Program brings together a diverse group of Americans who possess knowledge that is usually not represented in the transatlantic relationship.
