The Maldives government has reportedly suspended three ministers who had made derogatory comments against Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his recent visit to Lakshadweep islands... The Indian High Commission in Male on Sunday raised with the issue of derogatory comments made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi by certain lawmakers with the Maldivian government, even as Male distanced itself from these remarks and asserted that “personal” views do not represent its position.
The 3 ministers suspended are Mariyam Shiuna, Malsha and Hassan Zihan, however Hassan Zihan is claiming that reports of their suspension are completely false, terming them as 'fake news'.
