Hoping to go on holiday in 2024? Well pay attention, because holidaymakers could soon be denied entry to numerous countries including France, Spain, Portugal and Italy without a new EU travel permit.

The new permit, set to come into force in 2024, is called the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS). The ETIAS is not officially a visa and is instead labeled "a pre-travel authorisation system", much like the US Esta.
