Did Nigel Farage really call for a second EU in/out referendum?

Just when you thought you knew peoples’ positions on a second EU referendum, ie Leavers just want to get on with a UK exit and Remoaners want a second referendum, along comes naughty Nigel Farage saying he is now minded to support having another vote on the matter.

Speaking on Channels Five’s the Wright Stuff, Nigel Farage said:

“My mind’s actually changing on this. What is for certain is that the Cleggs, Blairs the Adonis will never ever ever give up. They will go on whinging and whining and moaning all the way through this process.

"So maybe, just maybe, I’m reaching the point of thinking that we should have a second referendum.”

And when challenged by the presenter who asked on what this second referendum would be based, Nigel replied that it should be on EU membership, the whole thing.

“Yes of course! - he said - unless you want to have a multiple choice referendum. I think if we had a second referendum on EU membership we’d kill it off for a generation, the percentage that would vote to leave next time would be very much bigger than it was last time round and we may just finish the whole thing off.”

Arron Banks, agrees with Nigel Farage and has responded by saying:

"If we do not act radically now, we will sleepwalk into a faux Brexit, in name only. True Brexiteers have been backed into a corner and the only option now is to go back to the polls and let the people shout from the rooftops their support of a true Brexit.

“Let the people denounce plans for greater European integration, the European Army and porous borders which facilitates the free movement of jihadis.”

"Leave would win by a landslide. The Tories don't want to do what the electorate have instructed. Perhaps we need to shout louder."

UKIP leader Henry Bolton has reiterated that:

"UKIP policy on a second referendum remains unchanged. The party opposes a second referendum."
