What is kizomba?
Why are there so many different understandings about kizomba – up to a point where some people say kizomba does not even exist? There’s a reason for all that. This video explains it in broad strokes, and also gives a brief history of kizomba since it arrived in Europe (of course, it has a history before that, but it is not in the scope of this video). Also, kizomba is an evolving, recreative, contemporary art. Even though this evolution took many forms once kizomba spread around the world, you must remember that the evolution never stopped in its origin! Therefore, the kizomba you see in Angola is vastly different from what you see outside of Angola.

I am a kizomba teacher since 2011. Since 2017, I bring people to visit Angola with me to experience the real deal directly at the roots. I work closely with the top Angolan artists and bring you the information and knowledge straight from the source, building a bridge between you and the Angolan culture – so that it is easier for you to learn and understand.
