Prime Minister Petr Fiala wraps up his productive three-day Official Visit to the Philippines that strengthened the diplomatic relations between the country and Czech Republic.

The Czech Prime Minister pays tribute to Dr. Jose. P. Rizal in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Rizal Park Monument in Manila in the morning of April 18, 2023 before his scheduled departure.

During his visit, he met President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in Malacañan Palace for a bilateral meeting that focused on advancing ties in various areas of mutual cooperation such as defense, trade and investments, university linkages, judicial, labor concerns, as well as regional and international issues.

Both leaders also witnessed the launching of a book entitled, ‘Kaibigan-Pratele: Czech-Philippine Cultural and Diplomatic Dialogue,’ which contains a documentation of the rich history of people-to-people and socio-cultural exchanges between the Philippines and Czech Republic.

Prime Minister Fiala is the first Head of Government from Europe who paid an official visit to the country since President Marcos Jr. assumed the Presidency. He is currently on a ten-day business trip to Asia, with the Philippines as his first stop.
