Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang and German counterpart Annalena Baerbock held talks in Berlin, Germany.

Qin noted that Beijing would maintain lines of communication with all parties to the conflict in Ukraine, including Germany, in seeking a ceasefire.

Under the latest set of sanctions against Moscow, the EU’s executive has proposed blacklisting Chinese companies and curbing exports to nations seen as involved in bypassing existing Russian trade restrictions.

However, Qin said China would defend the legal interests of their companies.
