Synopsis:
H.M. Queen Margrethe II has been regent of Denmark for 50 years in January 2022. This long reign is not only special to the Danish monarchy, but also rarely seen in other countries.

According to civilization researchers, the last two generations have experienced and created greater changes than all other generations combined. During the 50 years from 1972 until 2022, Europe has been through major political upheavals, invention of the internet and other technological advances, which has changed the social and working conditions in the world, while terror, religious tensions and the pandemic has affected our way of life in a way like never before.

Our goal was to make a new and unpredictable portrait of Her Majesty, including exclusive personalities, who have met Queen Margrethe or know her more personally. We can roughly talk about the following groups:

- Other members of the royal families worldwide
- Current and former heads of state, who have met H.M. Margrethe
- Great (cultural) personalities who have met or worked with H.M. Margrethe

The two programs include:

The historical aspect, which is described through archive footage, includes visits with Queen Margrethe, and footage from the different periods of time.

The personal aspect, where the interviewees include their personal impression of Her Majesty.

The social aspect, where the interviewees include their perception of the Danish people and society, along with the Danes’ relation to the royal family/monarchy.

In two very exclusive programs, the influential names will reflect the enormous achievement it really is to be a monarch for so many years, while society has changed dramatically.

The Nordic countries will have a prominent role, with the Swedish and Norwegian royal families participating in the interviews. The relationship between the Nordic royal families is extremely strong and important, both on a diplomatic, professional and a personal level.

The project has support from the Danish Royal Family and the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
