Dot volunteers to climb on Christine's lap for a meal.
Dodger struts the room with his tail up in the air.
Kittens play wildly while Christine sings karaoke.
Kittens nap at Christine's feet after play time. Lucy and Dorrit nap next to Christine and ask for pets.
Dorrit voluntarily gets on Christine's lap for pets (or maybe begging for treats).
All the kittens are spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. They will continue socialization in the room or, with the right adopter, in their new home. If you are interested in adoption, please email christineskittenroom@gmail.com and tell me about yourself and your home!
Meet the Dickens' Kittens!
Little Dorrit, Dot, and Dodger were spotted by someone in the community and they reached out for help to a local rescue who then reached out to their friends at Community Cat Coalition for help. It took weeks of flyering the neighborhood until we had a current sighting. Traps were set and within 16 hours, mom (Lillian) and three of her kittens were trapped. on 9/24/2020, 43 days later, the 4th kitten, Lucy, went into the trap!
Mom has been fixed, vaccinated, and ear tipped and has been released back where she was found. She is being fed by a lovely lady. Dad was neutered a few weeks before and occasionally visits the house to get a snack. Lillian's other kitten has no returned to the site. The kittens were trapped around the age of 13-14 weeks. We suspect their DOB is around 5/7/2020. Being found at this age makes taming a little harder so these kitties will be around for a while yet.
Thank you all for the amazon wishlist donations! The kittens are Dodger (gray tabby boy), Little Amy Dorrit (gray torbie girl), and Dot (brown torbie) (might switch girls).
Those who donated include Jersey Cat, Larry, KTK-HI, Denis, Jackie, Janet, Lynn B., Juliet, and Moonshadow's mom!
Why are they confined to a small pen? For the purpose of taming. Read more here: https://www.feralcat.com/taming.html
Why is it messy? Because kittens make messes and I don't need to be constantly cleaning the pen.
Why were they trapped? to reduce overpopulation and to find the same and loving homes with everything they need.
