A video put out by Angus Robertson last week claimed the Scottish government 'will continue to do all it can to mitigate' the damage from having no Erasmus scheme in Scotland.

The Erasmus programme is a European initiative that helps Scottish students visit Europe to study in European Universities and was stopped because of Brexit.

Wales have introduced the Taith scheme and England have the new Turing scheme, yet even though the SNP promised to start their own scheme - there seems to be very little progress.

Angus Robertson keeps telling opposition in parliament that the quickest way back to Erasmus is Scotland becoming Independent and rejoining the EU, which doesn't bode well as many experts say Scottish Independence is way off at the moment.

In a brief moment of clarity, Mr Robertson recently mentioned that to have a Scottish Erasmus scheme the government would have to 'cut' money from elsewhere in the education budget.

This reinforces a claim from Liz Green, workforce and practice manager at YouthLink Scotland, who told Holyrood’s Education Committee that YouthLink Scotland had been working with the Scottish Government on the replacement scheme, but communication has “stalled” amid budget concerns.
